Dr. No, the First James Bond Film, Is Released (1962)
In 1953, Ian Fleming published Casino Royale, the first of 12 novels featuring James Bond, the stylish, high-living secret service agent 007, who became one of the most successful heroes of 20th-century fiction. Packed with action, espionage, and sex, all 12 books—including From Russia, with Love, Goldfinger, and Thunderball—became popular films. Although it was not the first Bond book,Dr. No was the first to be adapted for the big screen. |
Joshua Lockwood Logan III (1908)
Logan was an American stage and film director and writer. He studied in Moscow under Constantin Stanislavsky and began to direct and act on Broadway and work on Hollywood films in the 1930s. He served as an intelligence officer in WWII, after which he directed a series of hit plays and musicals, including South Pacific, which he cowrote with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II.

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in every ch across
Row 2: ch 5 (counts as tr, ch 1), turn, *sk next dc, tr in next dc, ch 1; rep from * to last dc, tr in last dc
Row 3: ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, *dc in ch 1 so, do in tr; rep from * to end across
Rep rows 2 and 3 until your shawl is the desired width.
To add the picot border:
Without cutting yarn, ch 1, turn, *sc in each of next 3 dc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next dc; rep from * to end across. You may have to fudge it at the ends a little bit, but I didn't have any problems.
To add the picot border on the other side, join yarn at the beginning ch, then repeat the instructions for the other side, crocheting on the opposite side of the chain.
Fasten off, and weave in all ends.

Some say there is no difference between 'Complete' and 'Finished.' Please explain the difference in a way that is easy to understand.
His response was: When you marry the right woman, you are 'Complete.' If you marry the wrong woman, you are 'Finished.'And, when the right woman catches you with the wrong woman, you are 'Completely Finished.'

Before the days of commercial synthetic dye formulas, we humans only had natural dyes. Natural dyes are trickier to work with and often rare. Some colors were rarer than others and those dyes used to costs fortunes, literally fortunes. One of the most important natural dye substances comes from the New World and it made plenty of people their fortunes.
Meet the cochineal beetle, a little parasitic bug that lives on prickly pear cactus and makes some of the best natural red dye in the world.
For the record, they don’t normally look like that. In that picture they have been uncovered so we can see them in all their buggy glory. Normally they look more like this:
