Celebrate World Egg Day
Arguably one of the oldest foods known to man, eggs have played an important role in our lives and health since time out of mind. They are packed full of protein, and also serve as the base for some of the most wonderful culinary additions, including that most perfect of condiments for sandwiches, mayonnaise. World Egg Day celebrates these delightful little packages of deliciousness, and the incredibly important role they play in our day to day lives.
History of World Egg Day
While typically, when we consider the egg, we think of those white shelled emissions from the common chicken. Containing a small treasure with a golden yolk, and the potential to become so many things that it strains the boundaries of human imagination, the Chicken Egg has become the definitive image when the word ‘egg’ is spoken. But these are not the only egg that mankind finds valuable, consider for a moment caviar, a symbol of wealth in its own right. These are, of course, the eggs of various fish, and World Egg Day represents their importance as well.
The history of the egg expands far beyond a merely culinary concern, and in fact have had great importance in multiple cultures for reasons both decorative and religious. Consider for a moment the Easter Egg, where children hunt each year for brightly colored eggs or plastic shaped in the form of the egg which contain treats such as chocolate or money. Or what of the Faberge Eggs? Those beautiful pieces of artistic elegance created by Peter Carl Faberge. So beautiful were these that they were prized even by Czars. World Egg Day reminds you to explore the hallways of history and the places that eggs occupy there.

Feast of the Virgin of the Pillar
According to legend, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. James the Apostle when he was in Saragossa (Zaragoza), Spain. She spoke to him from the top of a pillar, which he interpreted as a sign that he should build a chapel where the column stood. The Feast of the Virgin of the Pillar is observed with special masses and processions, such as the Gigantes —giant cardboard and canvas figures representing Spanish kings and queens or famous literary and historical figures—and the cabezudos, or "big heads"—grotesque puppets with huge heads.

However, overall, you possess personal charisma and others find you fascinating. You have an unusual intelligence and insight into human nature. You are not always successful in your attempts to use tact, however! Thomas Gainsborough (1727–1788) was an English painter. Along with his bitter rival, Sir Joshua Reynolds, he is considered one of the most important British portrait artists of the second half of the 18th century. Born and raised in Sudbury, Suffolk, Gainsborough lived in London during the 1840s, where he trained under engraver Hubert-François Gravelot and contributed to the decoration of Vauxhall Gardens. After marrying Margaret Burr, an illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Beaufort, Gainsborough moved back to Sudbury and then to Ipswich, Bath and London. Gainsborough was a fast painter and worked more from observations of nature than from application of formal academic rules. Despite being a prolific portrait painter, Gainsborough gained greater satisfaction from his landscapes. This painting is a self-portrait of Gainsborough, painted shortly before he moved from Ipswich to Bath in 1759. It is now in the National Portrait Gallery in London.

AFAR REGION, ETHIOPIA
As the most ancient and grueling trade in Ethiopia, the salt miners in the Afar region are still using the most traditional camel caravan to carry loads of salt bricks extracted from the vast salt flats everyday. However, an under-construction railway from Djibouti and new road traversing the old salt route may soon render the camel caravan obsolete

What Does Your Handwriting Say About You?
me: Self-Confident, Headstrong, and results-driven, you are a take-charge personality type whose writing is never in vain, and is always for a specific purpose. Whether it's jotting down notes or labeling something for eternity - your handwriting is firm and almost mathematic in execution, with words forming straight lines across the page for the most part. The sharp lettered consistency and organization of your handwriting is a direct reflection of your psyche, and mirrors your desire for organization (and at least partial control) in everyday life. You are practical, and think with your head above all else.
