Celebrate Water a Flower Day
If it hadn’t been for coffee, cocoa, vanilla, lavender, camomile, marijuana, and many other flowering plants and trees, our world would have been a barren, dismal place. So Water a Flower Day is that yearly reminder to show our flowers how much we appreciate them for their sumptuous colors, their fragrant blossoms and their medicinal, or sometimes lethal, properties.
The best way to celebrate Water a Flower Day is by giving all of your household and garden plants an aquatic treat. Also, studies show that gently caressing them in the way that a diaphanous zephyr would in their natural habitat promotes growth, so don’t be shy, give their leaves a tender squeeze. Unless you own a Rafflesia Arnoldii, the largest flower on the planet, which doesn’t have any leaves and is also known as the ‘corpse flower’ due to the odor it oozes when disturbed. That’s one plant we wouldn’t mind forgetting to water, isn’t it? Best stick to roses and lilies, I say, and water them, stroke and sing to them like you would to a child. You’ll be a better person for it and you’d make the world a brighter, sweeter and more colorful place.

The inland thornbill (Acanthiza apicalis) is an insect-eating bird of Australia. It averages 10 centimeters (3.9 in) in length and 7 grams (0.25 oz) in weight. Cast off.

In your food processor (or just grate)
125 g sharp cheddar
1 zucchini
1 small onion or 1 t. dried minced onion
Then add:
1 egg
a good squeeze of lemon juice, or the zest of one lemon
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
pinch of nutmeg
pepper to taste
Fry these up in some butter, olive oil, and coconut oil until crispy. Serve with sour cream...they are actually good without!
You can double the batch and fry these up and freeze them for up to a month. Reheat on a baking sheet at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial was founded by Jan Scruggs, who served in Vietnam (in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade) from 1969-1970 as a infantry corporal. He wanted the memorial to acknowledge and recognize the service and sacrifice of all who served in Vietnam. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, Inc. (VVMF), a nonprofit charitable organization, was incorporated on April 27, 1979, by a group of Vietnam veterans (John Wheeler, Chairman of the Board for VVMF, served in Vietnam as a captain at U.S. Army headquarters from 1969-1970; Robert Doubek, VVMF project director, then executive director, served in Vietnam from 1968-1969 as an Air Force intelligence officer) in Washington, D.C. Jan Scruggs (President of VVMF) lobbied Congress for a two acre plot of land in the Constitution Gardens. Significant initial support came from U.S. Senators Charles McC. Mathias, Jr. (on November 8, 1979, Senator Mathias introduced legislation to authorize a site of national parkland for the Memorial) of Maryland and John W. Warner (Senator Warner launched the first significant financial contributions to the national fund raising campaign) of Virginia. On July 1, 1980, in the Rose Garden, President Jimmy Carter signed the legislation (P.L. 96-297) to provide a site in Constitution Gardens near the Lincoln Memorial. It was a three and half year task to build the memorial and to orchestrate a celebration to salute those who served in Vietnam.
