DIANE'S CORNER ..
Celebrate Nail Day

If your a nail fanatic and love decorating your nails with bright colors and intricate details, then this is the day for you. Nail Day is a day dedicated towards the art and appreciation of acrylic and fake nails. Fake nails have a long history of development over the past decade, and since then, fake nails have become all the crazy for people who love to keep up with the latest fashion trends. So, if you want to celebrate this fashion-forward holiday, then read all about it here and learn about its awesome history as a holiday.

History of Nail Day

Nail Day is founded by the UK company Elegant Touch, a brand that develops false nails in a wide variety of colors and sizes so people can have the most fun looking nails around. According to Elegant Touch, the company was founded by Simon, a pharmacist selling acrylic and nail tips who saw the opportunity to revolutionize the nail market. After seeing opportunity in acrylic nails, he wanted to develop a product that meant less time at the salon and less commitment.

Since then, Elegant Touch has become one of the most popular companies in the United Kingdom to develop and sell fake nails, giving their customers an extensive selection of colors and sizes to choose from. Elegant Touch since then founded this holiday on their love for nails, hoping to give potential customers the excuse to have a nail day and have a good time. Always keeping up with the latest trends, they plan to inspire everyone by keeping up with the latest trends and let their customers express their personality in their own way.

Walter Frederick Osborne (17 June 1859 – 24 April 1903)
was an Irish impressionist and Post-Impressionism landscape and portrait painter, best known for his documentary depictions of late 19th century working class life. Most of his paintings are figurative and focus on women, children, the elderly, the poor, and the day-to-day life of ordinary people on Dublin streets, as well as series of rural scenes.

(Not So) TOTALLY USELESS FACTS OF THE DAY
The most common street name in the US is "Second" street. The second-most common is "Third" street. The third-most common is "First" street.

The Three Stooges were a famous vaudeville and comedy act team that began performing in 1922. Throughout its history, the trio of stooges consisted of Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp, and Curly Joe. Of these, Curly was the ballroom dancer. Jerome “Curly” Howard, younger brother to both Moe and Shemp, was a skilled basketball player in addition to being an accomplished dancer.

In 1981, a California doctor worked around the clock to save the life of a 3.2 pound premature baby boy. The baby boy grew up to be a paramedic/fireman and saved that doctor's life when a semi-truck hit his car thirty years later. Article

PEANUT BUTTER & HONEY COOKIES

I think this recipe makes the best peanut butter cookies I’ve ever baked, and I’ve kept this recipe going since the early 70’s. I’ve tried others, but really, It’s just too good to give up! And if you are into eating cookie dough (as my daughter is), this is a healthier alternative to chocolate chip cookie dough.

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. peanut butter (I use organic)
1 egg
1-3/4 c. flour
1-1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt, if it’s needed

Mix the first four ingredients together, then blend the egg in well. Mix in the dry ingredients and chill the dough for 10 minutes. Roll into 1″ balls, and flatten with a fork. Bake at 357 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.

I make up one batch at a time, and put the rest in a Zip-Lock sandwich bag for another day. Yum!

PICTURES OF THE DAY

Shingo La is a high-altitude mountain pass in the Himalayas in northern India, connecting the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh with the Zanskar region of Ladakh. The pass is located at an altitude of about 5,000 metres (16,000 ft) and becomes snowbound in the winter months. This photograph, taken in October 2022, depicts the Nimmu–Padum–Darcha road winding through the pass.

You can use 'ice breaker questions' to build a report, enabling strangers to engage in back and forth conversion. With a little practice and possibly a beer or two, you'll be breaking more ice than the Titanic.

OPTICAL ILLUSION
Perfect Cut
This is Schönbrunn Park, one of Vienna’s biggest tourist attractions. Although the size and location of this park are what mainly draws people in, these trees are hard to ignore. It has been said that there are no straight lines in nature, which means these trees were trimmed into the uniform fashion you see above. This is an impressive feat, considering how many trees are in the park, as well as how perfect the lines are. It must take a lot of time and work to keep these constantly growing trees kept to these standards. However, it appears to be worth it and certainly makes for a mind-blowing picture.
