Evaluate Your Life Day - October 19, 2022

DIANE'S CORNER ..

Celebrate Evaluate Your Life Day

The time comes in every life where we have to take an accounting, a reckoning of the things we’ve done, the progress we’ve made, and the path we’re on. During that evaluation we may find that we don’t like where we are, and want to make changes to move forward with our goals. Maybe you’ll find that you’re making the progress you wanted to, and everything is moving along smoothly, most likely it’ll wind up somewhere in between. Whatever the case, Evaluate your Life day is a great opportunity to figure out where you are on your path.

History of Evaluate Your Life Day

Evaluate Your Life Day was created by the excellent people at Wellcat.com to encourage people to check out what’s going on in their lives, and to set things on the proper course. The concept of how important checking your course is cannot be understated, we all get a little lost on our trek, and without a regular check-in, how are we to know and plan for the future?

YOUR CALL by Sylvia, CAN DO Correspondent "I bake these puffy appetizers in my air fryer...so delicious! A little work, but so worth it!"
Pao de Queijo
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. ghee / coconut oil
1/2 t. salt
1 c. tapioca flour
1/2 t. smoked paprika
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. Parmesan, grated

Heat the milk with the ghee and salt until it steams, then take off the heat.

Sift in the tapioca starch and paprika with a wooden spoon, a little at a time. You want this smooth as possible.

Add the egg, beating until smooth.

Add the cheese, stirring until smooth.

Oil your hands*, and roll into 1" or 2" balls, and put these on parchment paper and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes in air fryer, and perhaps a little longer in the oven.

*I oiled my hands with garlic oil. You can also make small quenelles of about 1/2 teaspoon in size using two teaspoons, and drop them into boiling soup and let them cook for a few moments before serving.

SOCKS AS HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS

Plain white socks make perfect ghosts. You can stuff them (just the toe of the sock) with Kleenex, tissue paper, newspaper or other fabric scraps. Use a rubber band or string to tie it shut so your stuffing doesn’t fall out. Grab a permanent fabric marker and draw your ghostly face on it. Use fishing line to hang them so it gives the illusion that they are just floating there. These make perfect porch decorations.

You can use 'ice breaker questions' to build a rapport, enabling strangers to engage in back and forth conversion. With a little practice and possibly a beer or two, you’ll be breaking more ice than the Titanic.
