Celebrate Awkward Moments Day
Awkward moments happen all the time, and to some folks more than others! For anyone who’s ever wished the ground would open up and swallow them, Awkward Moments Day is a celebration of all awkward moments. From walking out of a public toilet with loo roll on a shoe, to realizing you’ve been speaking to someone everyday for a year, and don’t know their name, life is full of these moments.
Although there isn’t much information regarding the origins of Awkward Moments Day, many people have commented on how interesting it is that Awkward Moments Day is the day after St Patrick’s day! Awkward Moments Day can boast a mascot though, the awkward turtle.
So, if anything awkward happens on Awkward Moments Day, be sure to see the humour, of the situation, and have a good laugh about it, before moving on to the next one!

Word of the Day
reveille
“It’s eye before flea, except after sea.”
MEANING:
noun:
1. A signal to wake up in the morning, using a bugle, trumpet, etc., at military installations.
2. Any signal to get out of bed.
3. The hour at which a wake-up signal is sounded.
ETYMOLOGY:
From French réveillez (wake up!), from réveiller (to awaken), from re- (again) + eveiller (to rouse), from Latin exvigilare (to keep watch), from ex- (out) + vigilare (to be awake or keep watch), from vigil (awake). Ultimately from the Indo-European root weg- (to be strong or lively), which also gave us vegetable, vigor, velocity, watch, vigilante, vedette, vegete, and velitation. Earliest documented use: 1633.
USAGE:
“An alarm clock that wakes you with the scent of chocolate? It sounds like something Willy Wonka would create, but the Sensorwake Olfactory Alarm Clock is available from Harrods. Within two minutes of reveille, one of seven fragrances (including seaside, croissants, espresso, and grass) will intensify gradually until you are ready to face the day.”

Origin
The phrase that is most often used is heart-warming, instead of heart touching. It seems as if heart touching is most often used in Nepal, Pakistan and India. Even though the phrase is not exactly the same, the meaning is.
It is not clear exactly how the phrase was first used. Most sources claim that the adjective can be traced back to the 1620s.
It seems as if the first publication of the phrase can only be traced back to the 1890s.
Even though the spelling may differ (some countries write it as one word, others as two) the meaning remains the same. It is a feeling that makes it feel as if your heart is being touched. This is also why people often say the experience touched their heart.

Beyond Wonderland Southern California 2019
Mar 22 - 23, 2019 | San Bernardino, CA
Beyond Wonderland stages a helluva show. Yes, there's electronic music by the likes of Kaskade and Tiesto beating into your eardrums. But there's also a hookah-smoking caterpillar atop a giant mushroom on stage. And creatures handing out gigantic blue icing "Eat Me" cupcakes to the crowd. And human-size white rabbits frolicking around.
The fantastical rave takes its cues from Alice in Wonderland. "Embark on an adventure to the far side of the forest," the festival beckons, and it makes it happen via wandering, costume-clad characters, interactive art and wild backdrops to accompany the main acts.
Around 40,000 sexy twenty-somethings stream in for the two-day peace, love and dance scene. They don creative (and skimpy) outfits, their glitter sparkling and rainbow-colored beads bobbing to the spacey trance, dubstep and house beats. Everyone grooves alongside each other with no judgment. It really is a storybook realm.

Under the Horse Chestnut Tree(1898), a drypoint and aquatintprint by Mary Cassatt, an American painter and printmakerwho lived much of her adult life in France, where she first befriended Edgar Degas and later exhibited among the Impressionists. Cassatt often created images of the social and private lives of women, with particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers and children, on which her reputation is largely based. In recognition of her contributions to the arts, France awarded her the Légion d'honneur in 1904, but she never had as much success in her homeland, having been overshadowed by her brother, railroad magnate Alexander Cassatt.

Sneaky Squirrel
Answer: Figural and souvenir salt and pepper shakers became popular in the mid-20th century. Some ceramic shaker sets were made in the United States, and more were produced by Japanese firms and imported heavily after World War II. Of the many animals depicted in figural shakers, squirrels are among the most prolific. An eBay seller listed an identical set recently, described as "Vintage squirrel and tree salt and pepper shakers, 1950s." Each shaker was marked "Japan" on the bottom. The set was priced at $17.99 plus shipping. Many comparable ceramic novelty shaker sets are priced at $20 or less.
A Sticky Situation
Answer: Franklin MacVeagh (1837-1934) was a lawyer who served as director of the Commercial National Bank of Chicago for 29 years. President William Howard Taft asked him to be secretary of the treasury in 1909. Following Taft's defeat in the 1912 election, MacVeagh returned to Chicago to become president of Franklin MacVeagh & Co., a wholesale grocery company. The company closed in 1932, a victim of the Great Depression. Lyndon, a company brand name, is also found on paper labels of canned fruits distributed by Franklin MacVeagh & Co. This tin dates to about 1920, around the time Log Cabin brand of syrup was being marketed in house-shaped tins. A tin such as this might sell for $40 to $50.
