DIANE'S CORNER ..
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day
Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated worldwide by those of Irish descent and increasingly by people of other ethnicities as well, notably in Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and North America.
Celebrations are generally themed around all things Irish and, by association, the colour green. Both Christians and non-Christians celebrate the secular version of the holiday by wearing green, eating Irish food and/or green foods, imbibing Irish drink and attending parades, which have a particularly long history in the United States and in Canada.

DAILY SQU-EEK
If You Were Born Today, March 17
As sensitive, changeable, and deep as you are, you are also very determined and self-motivated. Inner restlessness is likely, especially in your youth. Many of you feel that you have a calling, and it can take some time to tune into the right path. Spiritual and perceptive, you are one who looks for a higher meaning to your existence. However, you seek love first and foremost and make a loyal and loving partner. Famous people born today:
astronaut testing. Altogether, 13 women passed the arduous
physical testing and became known as the Mercury 13. But
NASA already had its Mercury 7 astronauts, all jet test pilots
and all military men.
Today my young friend texted me and asked if there were anything she could pick up for me from the grocery store. And when she came to drop it off, I was so happy to see someone I know and love in the flesh that I ran around behind her and gave her a big squeezy hug. It made her pretty happy, too, even though she is married and gets big squeezy hugs all the time. Both my cat and scritch budgie have avoidant personality disorder, so I can scratch the one’s head, but like a frigid virgin, that’s as far as I can go, and that’s all the sweet love I’m gonna get. The bird has not yet figured out that I’ve never hurt her and have only fed her beautiful seeds and fruit, bought her toys with my last dime, and let her chirp the whole time the TV is on. They get along fine, these two avoidants.
So yeah, I grabbed the first physical human contact I’ve had in many weeks.
What kind of music do leprechauns love? Sham-rock.

A skilled baseball pitcher often throws a variety of different pitches in order to prevent the batter from hitting the ball well. The most basic pitch is a fastball, where the pitcher throws the ball as hard as he can. Some pitchers are able to throw a fastball at a velocity of over 100 miles per hour (160 km/h). Other common types of pitches are the curveball, slider, changeup, forkball, and knuckleball. These generally are intended to have unusual movement or deceive the batter as to the rotation or velocity of the ball, making it more difficult to hit.NICE

An Irishman, by the name of O'Malley, proposed to his girl on St. Patrick's Day. He gave her a ring with a synthetic diamond. The excited young lass showed it to her father, a jeweler. He took one look at it and saw it wasn't real.
The young lass on learning it wasn't real, returned to her future husband. She protested vehemently about his cheapness.
"It was in honor of St. Patrick's Day," he smiled.
"I gave you a sham rock."
