DIANE'S CORNER ... Celebrate Dentist Day
Not a fan of the dentist? You’re not alone, but if this often disliked profession didn’t exist, our penchant for sugars and sweet treats would have destroyed our pearly gnashers a long time ago. Love them or hate them, there’s certainly an argument to say that dentists are one of the most important professionals you can get in the health industry. After all, without our teeth, where would we be?
Dentist’s Day is meant to honor our favorite nerve-wracking experience in the dentist’s chair. While many aren’t always too keen on getting their teeth checked, sorting out cavities and stopping decay in its tracks is key to a long and healthy life – so today, say thank you!
Michelangelo, in full Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, (born March 6, 1475, Caprese, Republic of Florence [Italy]—died February 18, 1564, Rome, Papal States), Italian Renaissance sculptor, painter, architect, and poet who exerted an unparalleled influence on the development of Western art.

MARCH 8: NATIONAL PROOFREADING DAY
Sure, it may seem scary—but the red pen is your friend. As is giving that missive you’re about to send a second (and very careful) reading. A typo might not seem like a big deal … until it costs you $80 million (or some serious embarrassment).

FRIDAY'S INTERESTING FACTS
A swarm of 20,000 bees followed a car for two days because their queen was stuck inside.
When the car parked, the thousands of bees swarmed onto the car and had to be taken off by beekeepers. The next day, the bees were back on the car because the queen was still inside and the swarm had to be taken off again.

While trying to find a cure for AIDS, the Mayo Clinic made glow in the dark cats.
This is due to their use a specific protein that was fluorescent green. They used this protein to find out if their tests worked: if the animal glowed, the outcome was successful.

Honeybees can recognize human faces.
Whereas before it was thought that only large brained mammals could distinguish faces, but honeybees can do this as well! They see faces in a compilation of 5,000 individual images – kind of like pixels.

The black-necked stilt (Himantopus mexicanus) is a species of
shorebird in the family Recurvirostridae, inhabiting wetlands and
coastlines in North, Central and South America. Adults average
about 36 cm (14 in) in length, with black-and-white plumage and
a thin, straight, black bill. The legs are long and pink, and there is
a white spot above the eye that distinguishes the species from the
grassy marshes and lakesides, as well as in shallow waters near
the shore; the diet consists mainly of insects and their larvae,
crustaceans, other arthropods, mollusks, tadpoles and small fish.
The species nests in colonies that may have several dozen pairs
spread out loosely, with the birds defending an extensive
perimeter around groups of nests, patrolling in cooperation with
their neighbors.

OPTICAL ILLUSION
This is not the work of a 3D printer. Seems to be the work of carefully designed printed flat.
It’s the illusion of this irregular square or box seemly floating or popping out of the background.
