DIANE'S CORNER ...
Celebrate Love Note Day
Love Note Day is a day to tell someone you love them, by writing a message of love in the form of a note. Though the traditional way of doing this is in handwritten form, eCards are another way of sending out a love message on this particular day.
This day can be at its most effective when the recipient of the message isn’t aware that Love Note Day even exists! Consequently, a loving message will come as a pleasant surprise.
For couples that plan exchanging Love Notes, then doing so in unpredictable ways can make the whole day a fun experience. Leaving a note in a fridge, or on the inside of the bathroom door are just two examples.
Love Note Day can be for any family members or for long time friends, too. It’s the perfect day to make someone feel appreciated through just a few heartfelt words.

Joke of the Day
ARE YOU A MITE?
A fly feels a bug on its back.
"Hey, bug on my back, are you a mite?" the fly asks.
"I 'might' be," giggles the mite.
"That's the worst pun I've ever heard," groans the fly.
"What do you expect?" says the mite. "I came up with it on the fly..."

Rome's decline was caused less by gaping wounds than gaping inequality, and by leaders unable or willing to remedy it

DAILY SQU-EEK
If You Were Born Today, September 27
You are charismatic, passionate, and a born leader, albeit a quiet one. Somewhat mysterious, you are sometimes difficult to get to know. However, most sense your sincerity, kindness, and soft heart. Petty selfishness is generally beneath you. You are success-oriented and will work hard for every dollar you earn. It is relatively easy for you to mix business and pleasure. You are at once logical and intuitive, but as you mature, you learn to trust your intuition most, after much trial and error, as it seems to serve you better. Famous people born today:
1389 Cosimo de Medici, Italian banker and de facto ruler of Florence and patron of the arts, born in Florence (d. 1464)
1722 Samuel Adams, American revolutionary (Boston Massacre-Tea Party) and politician (Lt Gov-Mass, 1789-94), born in Boston, Massachusetts (d. 1803)
1817 Hiram R. Revels, 1st African American US Senator, born in Fayetteville, North Carolina (d. 1901)
1840 Thomas Nast, German political cartoonist of late 1800s America, born in Landau, Germany (d. 1902)
1949 Mike Schmidt, American Baseball Hall of Fame 3rd baseman (NL MVP 1980-81, 86; 12-time MLB All Star), born in Dayton, Ohio
1972 Gwyneth Paltrow, American actress (Pallbearer, Emma, Hard Eight), born in Los Angeles, California

FRIDAY'S INTERESTING FACTS
Scientific studies have shown that your heartbeat will mimic the music beats and tempo of the song you are listening to. If it’s a slow ballad, your heart is mellow. If the song you are listening to hits a crescendo, your heart will constrict the blood vessels. This will cause your blood pressure and heart rate to go up.

Agdam is a ghost town in the southwest part of Azerbaijan and the formal capital of its Agdam District, today controlled by the de facto Republic of Artsakh, but de jure internationally recognized territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Armenian forces captured Agdam in July 1993 during the Nagorno-Karabakh War. The heavy fighting forced the entire population to flee eastwards. Upon seizing the city, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic forces destroyed much of the town to discourage Azerbaijanis from returning. More damage occurred in the following decades when locals looted the abandoned town for building materials. It is currently almost entirely ruined and uninhabited.
